Who we are

DefTech Directory (deftech.directory) is an editorial directory of defense and dual-use technology companies. For any question about this notice or your data, write to contact@deftech.directory.

Browsing the site

You can use the whole public site without an account. We set no advertising or tracking cookies. We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookie and does not identify you; query strings are removed from the addresses it records.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) processes your IP address and request details to serve pages and keep the service secure. To limit abuse, requests to our API and the submission form are counted per IP address for up to one hour (Upstash). We do not use this data for anything else.

Submitting a company

The submission form collects details about a company and, if you choose to give it, an email address so we can tell you the outcome. We use that address only for this purpose, store it with the submission in our database (Supabase, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany), and never publish it. The moderation notification is sent through Resend. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to us; we then delete the address.

People named in company records

Company records describe businesses, drawn from public sources such as company websites, news reporting, funding announcements and public registers. Where a record names a person (for example a founder), it is because a public source does, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in documenting the sector. You can ask us to correct or remove information about you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, object to its processing, or ask us to restrict it. Write to contact@deftech.directory and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Administrators

Signing in is only for the site's administrators. It uses a session cookie set by Supabase Auth, which is strictly necessary for that purpose.
